Have you ever had a moment when you’ve thought, where has the real me gone?
Life can become incredibly full. We work, care for other people, make decisions, solve problems and keep going.
And somewhere amongst all that noise, we can gradually lose connection with ourselves.
I know this because it happened to me.
The experience that changed things for me
Many years ago, I underwent a major 10-hour operation.
Recovery forced me to stop in a way that everyday life never had.
And during that time, something quite profound happened.
I began to experience a much deeper connection with myself, with what I would describe as my soul or higher self. You may use completely different words for it, but for me it was the beginning of understanding that there was far more communication happening within my body than I had previously realised.
That experience ultimately became part of a much bigger story.
And then came the horses…
After qualifying as a craniosacral therapist in 2013, I later trained in equine craniosacral therapy.
Working with horses opened another fascinating door.
Horses don’t explain how they’re feeling. They don’t tell you where something feels wrong or describe what’s happened to them.
You have to listen differently.
In my new video, I share a little of this part of my story and you’ll also see some footage of me working with horses using equine craniosacral therapy.
It’s something I don’t think I’ve shared very much before.
Can we learn to listen to ourselves differently too?
This brings me back to something I now teach regularly, the sway test or body pendulum
It’s an incredibly simple way of beginning to explore the body’s responses and develop greater awareness of what you’re feeling.
I demonstrate it in the video so you can try it for yourself. But once we know how to connect, then we can take things further and deepen that connection and understanding.
You don’t need to believe anything beforehand. You can simply be curious and see what you notice.
Because perhaps when we say:
“I don’t feel like myself anymore.”
the real you hasn’t actually gone anywhere, you have simply lost the connection.
Perhaps life has simply become so loud that you’ve stopped hearing yourself.
In this video, I’m sharing more of my own story, showing you a glimpse into my work with horses and demonstrating one of the techniques I use to help people begin reconnecting with themselves.

I’d love to know what you notice.
